Tour Description

The Old City of Istanbul is famous for its Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar, but there is so much more to see in the backstreets. Discover some of the most underrated, stunning historical sites from hundreds of years ago that don’t get a fraction of the tourists as the major sites.

Süleymaniye Mosque

The largest mosque built during the Ottoman Empire. However, unlike the Blue Mosque, it is not swarming with tourists, there is never a line to enter, and you can even be present during the praying times. This stunning mosque is one of the finest examples of Ottoman architecture at its peak.

Backstreet Markets

Discover the backstreets of the Old City where locals shop. Behind the thick walls of the Grand Bazaar, there's a different world where locals buy cheap, local goods. See the "real" bazaar with your own eyes.

Old Book Bazaar

Dating back to the 15th century, the book bazaar is as old as the Grand Bazaar, yet it is not as famous as the Grand Bazaar. This small market is still popular among locals, and especially among the students of Istanbul University. Here you can find both used books and new books.
