Tour Description

This tour includes some of the most important, must-see landmarks of Istanbul. While Hagia Sophia and the Basilica Cistern reflect the Byzantine Empire at its peak, the Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar reflects the Ottoman Empire at its peak.

Basilica Cistern

The largest Roman underground cistern in the world, a mysterious site dating back almost 15 centuries, the Basilica Cistern amazes its visitors with its unique columns and pedestals that were harvested from temples and governmental structures that are even older than itself.

Hagia Sophia

The largest place of worship on the planet for a thousand years, center of the patriarchy and the most important cathedral for Christians worldwide for centuries - Hagia Sophia, converted to a mosque in 1453, is today a functional mosque with a museum on the upper gallery. This is the #1 historical site in all of Turkey.

Grand Bazaar

The Grand Bazaar is one of the oldest and biggest structures built by the Ottomans in Istanbul. Dating back to 1461, the Grand Bazaar is a truly incredible site with close to 2500 shops, dozens of streets, inns, restaurants and cafes. It is perhaps the first shopping mall in the world.
